To support the implementation of the law on occupational safety and health in the construction industry and to enhance the understanding of the relevant parties on the importance of occupational safety and health measures for safe construction, the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) of the University of Macau (UM) and the Labour Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government will offer a new round of the Construction Safety Officer Course. Applications are now open.

One English class and three Chinese classes will be offered. The English class will start on 1 June and the application deadline is 17 May. The three Chinese classes will start on 1 July, 1 August, and 9 September, respectively, and the application deadline is 31 May. The English class is a new class launched for Macao-based professionals whose first language is not Chinese. The course consists of four parts, namely ‘occupational safety’, ‘occupational health’, ‘safety management’, and ‘legislation’, totalling 150 study hours. Those who complete the course and pass the assessment will receive a certificate issued jointly by UM and the Labour Affairs Bureau.
