A delegation led by Tian Hui, secretary of the Party Committee of the Ocean University of China, visited the University of Macau (UM) and was warmly received by UM Rector Yonghua Song. The two parties had in-depth discussions on promoting exchanges between the two universities and deepening cooperation in ocean research.

Song said that UM is committed to cultivating outstanding talent who can serve the country’s needs by leveraging Macao’s advantages. UM and the Ocean University of China have enjoyed extensive cooperation in student and faculty exchanges as well as academic and research projects, and have jointly established the China-Portuguese Speaking Countries Ocean Research Alliance. He hopes that the two universities will further integrate their geographical advantages, academic resources and research strengths to jointly promote talent cultivation and technological innovation in China’s ocean research, and contribute to the building of a maritime community with a shared future. The delegation also visited the University Gallery, the UM Library and the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City, and spoke highly of UM’s research development.
