The University of Macau (UM) English Debating Team recently won five awards, namely the championship and the third prize in the university category, the Best Debater Award in the final, and two Best Debater Awards in the preliminaries, in an inter-varsity English debate competition in Macao. Since 2006, the UM has won ten consecutive championships in this competition. The recipients of the Best Debater Award in the preliminaries are Liew Fook Khei and Tang Cheok Man. Liew also received the Best Debater Award in the final.
