The University of Macau (UM) National Flag Team today (1 October) held a flag raising ceremony in the university’s Lotus Square, to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. In response to the epidemic prevention requirements of the Macao SAR government, faculty and students were not invited to attend the ceremony; the National Flag Team members, spectators, and staff were required to present their green health codes and have their body temperature checked before entering the venue. They were also required to wear a mask and keep a safe distance from each other throughout the ceremony.
