The University of Macau (UM) on Friday 16 July will hold a lecture titled ‘Autonomous Driving and Future Transport – The Reforms and Challenges’, as part of the University Lecture Series in celebration of the 40th anniversary. Wu Jianping, an expert in smart city development and smart transport, will be the keynote speaker. 
Wu is a professor in Tsinghua University’s School of Civil Engineering and the director of Tsinghua-Cambridge-MIT ‘Future Transport’ Research Center. During the talk, he will discuss the characteristics and the future of autonomous driving technology and smart transport systems, the impact of autonomous driving and smart transport systems on society, as well as opportunities and challenges in the process when both autonomous and manned vehicles are on the road.
