The University of Macau (UM) English Debating Team participated in the Sixth Guangdong Debate Challenge between 6 March and 7 March. After competing with nearly 200 debaters from 46 universities in the Asia-Pacific region, the team won the overall championship of the competition. In addition, two debaters from UM, namely Liew Fook Khei and Tang Cheok Man, were ranked among the top ten debaters in this event. Liew also won the ‘Grand Final Best Speaker’ title. This year’s competition attracted debating teams from various universities around the world, including the University of Hong Kong, the University of Melbourne, the University of Sidney, Waseda University, and Sun Yat-sen University.
