The University of Macau (UM) today (1 November) held a talk titled ‘The Era of Artificial Intelligence’ as part of the University Lecture Series. Dr Lee Kai-Fu, chairman and CEO of Sinovation Veutures, who is also the president of Sinovation Ventures Artificial Intelligence Institute, was the keynote speaker. The talk attracted more than 1,000 people, including UM faculty and students, high school teachers, and members of the general public. Dr Lee discussed the four waves of artificial intelligence (AI), and how AI will permeate every part of our lives in the next decade. UM Rector Yonghua Song met with Dr Lee. During the meeting, they exchanged ideas on education and research in AI, and discussed the possibility of increasing collaboration in the field.
