More than 400 UM students, including 130 students of bachelor’s programmes, 57 master’s students, and 38 PhD students, received awards at the “Scholarship and Rector’s Honor List Presentation Ceremony”. This year UM received a total of 276 scholarships in the amount of 4.65 million MOP donated by 31 organizations and individuals, over 1.3 million more than last year.
Rector Wei Zhao said in his speech that as a leading university in Macao, UM is committed to providing the best education to students. To this end, UM established the Honours College and Graduate School in this academic year, and began to improve and reform undergraduate programmes. In addition, UM plans to establish the Centre for Teaching and Learning Enhancement, step up efforts in global recruitment, and strengthen education and career counseling for students. Finally Rector Wei Zhao encouraged students to continue to study hard and expressed gratitude to relevant organizations and individuals for their generous donations to the University.
