The University of Macau (UM) Mandarin Debating Team recently won the championship of an international inter-varsity Mandarin debating competition held at Sun Yat-sen University, after beating a team from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in the final. The event attracted debating teams from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Wuhan University, Soochow University, Sun Yat-sen University, NUS, and UM. UM’s representatives in the competition included current and past members of the Mandarin Debating Team.
