The University of Macau (UM) Office of Health, Safety and Environmental Affairs (HSEO) recently organised a series of activities, including a talk, a workshop, and medical tests, to celebrate the International Women’s Day and also to raise health awareness among female staff members and students. During the talk, the speaker explained the causes and treatments of cervical cancer, and how Papanicolaou test (Pap test) can help to prevent the disease.
The activities attracted more than 100 faculty members, staff members, and students. UM Vice Rector (Administration) Dr Kou Mei, HSEO Head Leung Chiu Ming, and a representative from the Women’s General Association of Macau also participated in the activities.
A workshop on breast self-examination will be held on 10 March.
