The University of Macau’s (UM) Mandarin Debating Team won the third prize and two Best Debater Awards at the International Chinese Debating Competition 2015.

The International Chinese Debating Competition is one of the most influential Chinese debating competitions in the world. This year’s competition attracted 24 strong teams from around the world, including Singapore, the United Kingdom, Australia, Malaysia, mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao.

The UM team was led by the head coach Yin Degang and coach Liu Jingjing. Members of the UM team include Shao Xiaozhou from the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) and Henry Fok Pearl Jubilee College, Wu Haomeizi from the FBA and Moon Chun Memorial College, Jiang Yixue from the Faculty of Education and Stanley Ho East Asia College, postgraduate Zheng Bowen from the Faculty of Law, who won two Best Debater Awards, and Ma Yuting and Zhang Nuozhou from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Cheng Yu Tung College.
