The University of Macau (UM) today (16 November) kicked off its ninth Healthy University Week and signed the Occupational Safety and Health Charter.

UM’s Acting Rector Prof Rui Martins said at the kick-off ceremony that as the first university in Macao to sign the Occupational Safety and Health Charter UM promises to continuously improve the working environment so as to prevent and control various kinds of occupational hazards.

After the signing of the charter, awards were presented to winners of the Healthy University Logo Design Competition and a related photography competition held earlier.

Many interesting activities will be held during the Healthy University Week, including a Healthy Campus Carnival, a lecture on nutrition from the perspective of Chinese medicine, a film about environmental protection, a lecture on occupational safety, and a workshop on food safety.
