The University Council (UC) of University of Macau (UM) announces that Dr Alex Lai has submitted his resignation from the position of vice rector (administration). Respecting Dr Lai’s decision, UC Chair Dr Lam Kam Seng has accepted his resignation on behalf of the University Council with regret. Based on mutual agreement, Dr Lai will leave his post on 1 April 2016. UM has put in place the process for the recruitment of a new vice rector (administration) in accordance with the University Charter and relevant internal regulations.
In his acceptance of Dr Lai’s resignation, Dr Lam expressed appreciation of his services to the university as well as to the University Council for more than 20 years, especially during the period of the construction of the new campus and relocation to the new campus last year.
On behalf of the University Council, Dr Lam wishes Dr Lai all the best in his future endeavours and looks forward to Dr Lai’s continuing services to the university in other areas in the future.
