Seven students of the Department of Communication, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Macau arrived in Beijing days ago commencing their two-month internship at China Daily Olympian, the 2008 Beijing Olympics English publication endorsed by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG). The students will work as assistants to reporters and editors throughout the whole period of the Beijing Olympics in August.

The seven students who were strictly selected from a large number of applicants were ecstatic to be able to participate as reporters in the historic event of Beijing Olympics, the first time that the Games will be held on the Chinese soil. The students are now under rigid training to get themselves well-equipped for Olympics Reporting.

The internship programme, which has received great support from China Daily, is sponsored by the University of Macau. It is the first time that students of communication majors undertake internship in media organizations in Beijing.

China Daily Olympian, which will be published daily during the Beijing Games, covers sports news, features, athlete profiles, medal reviews and other Olympic activities.
