The University of Macau (UM) today (1 April) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Research Centre for Eco-Environmental Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) on the establishment of a joint laboratory on environmental monitoring and evaluation in Macao. The MOU aims to improve the quality of environmental monitoring and evaluation in Macao by combining the expertise and technologies of the two institutes in the related fields.
The MOU was signed by UM Rector Wei Zhao and Research Centre for Eco-Environmental Sciences Director Jiang Guibin. Both parties agree to fund the establishment of this lab and create a sharing mechanism for laboratory equipment, research teams and project applications. The joint lab will provide necessary expertise and technologies for the two institutes and will hold seminars and training sessions on a regular basis.
