University of Macau (UM) Vice Rector (Research) Rui Martins on 2 March met with Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP) Executive Secretary Murade Isaac Murargy, on behalf of UM as the president of the Association of Portuguese Speaking Universities, AULP).
The meeting aims to strengthen the ties and collaboration between the AULP and the CPLP, and to explore ways to combine the strengths of both organisations’ members in higher education and research.
The AULP and the CPLP were established in 1986 and 1996 respectively, and have been in collaboration with each other for more than 15 years. The AULP became a consultative observer of the CPLP in 2000. In 2008, the AULP, the CPLP, and the Camões Institute jointly established the Fernão Mendes Pinto award.
