The University of Macau (UM) recently organised a symposium on Lu Xun and the New Culture Movement in China, with assistance from the Association of Lu Xun Studies and Beijing Luxun Museum. Numerous scholars attended the seminar and had in-depth discussions on the topic.

Chair Professor Yang Yi from UM’s Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and Department of Chinese Head Prof Zhu Shoutong are president and vice president of the Association of Lu Xun Studies respectively. This conference is the first event in the Greater China region to commemorate the centenary of the New Culture Movement, and is considered to be a milestone in the studies of Lu Xun and the New Culture Movement.
