Students from the Department of Communication, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Macau (UM), received two prizes—the Best in Overall Design Prize and the Best in Feature Writing Prize—at the Campus Newspaper Award 2013, which was organised by the China Daily Hong Kong. UM was the only higher education institution from Macao to have participated in and received prizes at this competition. Other contesting universities included the Communication University of China, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Shantou University, Shenzhen University, Shih Hsin University, Fu Jen Catholic University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Shue Yan University, Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), and Chu Hai College of Higher Education. The award ceremony was held at HKBU on 28 September.
