The sixth International Forum on Sino-American Economic and Trade Relations, jointly organized by the University of Macau’s (UM) Social Science Research Centre on Contemporary China, the Institute of American Studies, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the American Economic Association of China, was held at UM on 10 October and 11 October. The forum discussed a range of issues, including the key issues in the U.S.-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue, the economic trends in the United States in the election year, the impact of such economic trends on the economic and trade relations between China and the U.S., how U.S. investments in Macao’s gaming industry affect the socio-economic development in Macao, etc.
