University of Macau (UM) Prof. Liu Jianhong was invited to the Stockholm Prize in Criminology (which is considered the “Nobel Prize” in criminology) presentation ceremony and academic conference to deliver a keynote speech, for the second consecutive year. 

Held in the City Conference Centre of Stockholm, Sweden, from 11 June to 14 June, the symposium attracted more than eight hundred criminologists from around the world. Prof. Liu’s theory of Asian Paradigm and victim perspective received great interest and positive response from the participants. 

A total of five criminologists from across the globe were invited to deliver keynote speeches at the conference. The other four speakers included the former president of the American Society of Criminology and the British Society of Criminology, and a member of the Campbell Collaboration Crime and Justice Group Steering Committee. 

This year’s prize went to Prof. Jan Van Dijk for his contribution in Victimology.
