On 27 March 2012, Prof. Brian Norton, president of the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) in Ireland, visited the University of Macau (UM), and met with Prof. Philip C. L. Chen, dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), and Dr. Su Yan, assistant professor of the Department of Electromechanical of FST. During the meeting, both parties exchanged ideas on future development, research projects, faculty and student training, and some other related issues.

DIT currently has more than twenty-two thousand students, and it consists of four colleges: College of Arts & Tourism, College of Business, College of Engineering & Built Environment, and College of Sciences & Health.

After the meeting, Prof. Brian Norton was shown around UM’s campus.
