Let’s Stretch, Let’s Relax

In order to promote a healthy lifestyle, the University of Macau (UM) lately held the fourth Healthy University Week. As usual, this year’s Healthy University Week has three themes, namely health, safety and environmental protection.

UM Vice Rector Dr. Lai Iat Long said that as a member of the “Asia-Pacific Network of Healthy Universities” since 2007, UM has organized various kinds of similar activities. It is committed to building a healthy, safe and eco-friendly campus to provide an excellent environment for staff and students to work, study and do research. As a Healthy University, UM is seeking continuous improvement. For instance, it established the Office of Health, Safety and Environmental Affairs in order to build a high-quality campus where students and staff can realize their full potential and work together towards the goal of becoming a world-class university.

The launch ceremony was held yesterday (15 Nov 2010). Activities included the award presentation for winners of the “Healthy University Logo Design Competition” and the “Let's Live a Green Life Energy Saving Quiz”, Lucky Draw for UM Environmental Protection Survey, performance by the UM Taekwondo Team, game booths and exhibition.
