The UM-Tongji Frontiers Science Center Joint Symposium, jointly organised by the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) of the University of Macau (UM), the Ministry of Education Frontiers Science Center for Precision Oncology (FSCPO) of UM, and the Ministry of Education Frontier Science Center for Stem Cell Research of Tongji University, will be held on Saturday 11 May.

Under the theme ‘Cell Fate & Disease’, the symposium will feature 16 talks by top scientists from the two frontiers science centers at UM and Tongji University. The talks will cover the latest research advances, prospects, and challenges in the fields of precision oncology and stem cell research. In addition, Gao Shaorong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of the Frontier Science Center for Stem Cell Research at Tongji University, will give a keynote presentation titled ‘Epigenetic Regulation of Early Embryo Development and Somatic Cell Reprogramming’, while Chuxia Deng, dean of FHS and chief scientist of FSCPO, will give a keynote presentation titled ‘Strategies to Identify and Overcome Cancer Drug Resistance’.

The joint symposium will begin at 9:00am in the Lecture Hall of the Research Building (N21-G013) at UM, and will be conducted in English.
