Zheng Xiaosong, director general of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Macao SAR, today (13 July) visited the University of Macau (UM). The delegation met with UM faculty and students. Zheng said that UM is an important base in Macao for nurturing professionals and praised UM’s hard-won achievements, adding that the central and Macao SAR governments attach great importance to higher education development in Macao. Zheng also expressed hope that the university will continue to produce exemplary graduates who love China and Macao, enhance the quality of its teaching and faculty, promote technological innovation, contribute to the diversification of Macao’s economy, and seize the opportunities created by the Greater Bay Area initiative.
