Two University of Macau (UM) students recently won a second prize and a third prize, respectively, for their papers at a national academic conference on practical writing held in Chongqing. The students are from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature and the Department of Communication, respectively. Their papers were supervised by emeritus professor Tang Keng Pan from the Chinese department. The conference was organised by the Chinese Institute of Practical Writing and hosted by Chongqing Society for Practical Writing. It was attended by more than 150 experts and scholars from nearly 20 provinces, cities, and regions.
