Ao Ieong Im Wa, a local PhD student of the Department of Chinese, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Macau (UM), passed the oral defenses with unanimous praise from Examination Committee members from the Peking University, Taiwan University and the University of London. Ao Ieong is the first UM’s PhD student whose research focus is on Wen Xin Diao Long (The Literary Mind and the Carving of Dragons), which is a summary of literary criticism works compiled by Liu Xie of the Six Dynasties.
