The University of Macau’s (UM) Mandarin Debating Team won the second runner-up prize and the Best Debater Award at the fourth Intervarsity Debate Contest among Canton, Hong Kong and Macao. The one-week contest attracted 11 strong teams from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Guangdong and Macao. The championship and the first runner-up prize went to the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Taiwan Chengchi University respectively.
