The Macau Fishermanˇ¦s Wharf
Spending a day at the Macau Fisherman's Wharf with your friends and family can be very fascinating. It is the first theme park with diverse features in Macau where people can have one more exciting place to visit.
The Fisherman's Wharf is located near the New Macau-Hong Kong Ferry Terminal. You can see three different themed sections. They are the Dynasty Wharf, East Meets West and Legend Wharf. Each of them features a distinguished style, enthralling you to feel like you are entering into a wonderland. The Tang Dynasty will lead you to the world of ancient China and Roman Medieval buildings take you to the Latin tradition with a European style. For the East Meets West section, you will find a noticeable man-made volcano which will explode every night. Besides that, a series of popular brand-name shops will provide you with a wonderful shopping experience. If you just want to take a walk, the Legend Wharf can be a very nice place. Not only can you have a charming sea view with the sight of the Friendship Bridge, but you can also enjoy delicious food and drinks at the same time.
Ho (only last name was given), a local resident who has been to Fisherman's Wharf a few times with her family and friends, says, "I think Macau is a very small city and I can hardly think of any fresh place for leisure time. That's why I choose the Fisherman's Wharf and the sea view. It is really relaxing. Also, Macau lacks some adventurous theme parks. My kids now can enjoy their own adventures here."
She also mentions that the cost is a bit high in the Fisherman's Wharf, but she is willing to spend and hopes that more boutiques will be open in the future.
Some coffee shops and restaurants will be opening soon, like Delifrance, the French coffee shop. Lai (only last name was given) who owns a coffee shop inside the Fisherman's Wharf, believes that it is one of the attractive scenic spots in Macau. Most of her customers are from Hong Kong and mainland China; while some others are from Australia, Canada...etc. She suggests that the Fisherman's Wharf should hold more promotions and performances. It can be helpful to attract more visitors to come no matter whether during weekends or weekdays, she says.
Since the soft opening on Dec 31, there are more than tens of thousands of tourists and local residents visiting this new place. Chief Executive Operating Officer of the Fisherman's Wharf David Chow Kam Fai said during a press conference that he expects local residents will visit the Fisherman's Wharf at least six times a year and that the theme park will attract around 25 million visitors each year.
The Fisherman's Wharf has started a new era for the Macau tourism industry.
