The Faculty of Business Administration of the University of Macau is organizing the 5th Biennial Conference of the World Accounting Frontiers Series (WAFS) to be held at the new campus of the University of Macau on May 27 - 30, 2015.
This interdisciplinary accounting conference aims to bring together academics and practitioners worldwide to incubate and develop knowledge and ideas in the field of accounting. Papers are invited in the broad areas of financial accounting, management accounting, accounting education issues, auditing, corporate governance, management information systems, and taxation. The research could be Asia-centric or of global phenomenon.
The theme of the WAFS 2015 is Bridging between Accounting and Accounting Information Systems (AIS). The accounting industry has gone through tremendous changes in its different branches throughout the ages, and in particular, recently after the global financial crisis. Accounting professionals always strike to balance the interests of the different stakeholders without compromising their accepted principles. In order to achieve this end more efficiently and effectively, the use of AIS is a must. Accounting would not have been made that easy without the use of AIS. This Conference will provide an opportunity for participants engaged in related research to discuss about the connection as well as interaction between accounting and AIS, and may, in turn, explore new perspectives of understanding and change in the accounting discipline.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Conference.
