The 4th Annual Conference of the Global Chinese Real Estate Congress (GCREC) will be held on July 3 - 5, 2012 at the Grand Hyatt , Macau SAR, China. Hosted by the Faculty of Business and Administration of the University of Macau, this Conference will serve as a platform for the exchange of ideas among scholars, practitioners and government officials from all over the world on the latest developments in the real estate field. There will be both Chinese and English paper sessions (including instant translation at the opening sessions). One special session will be designated for Ph.D. students to present their dissertations.
The Editors of the Journal of Real Estate (the official journal of GCREC, in Chinese), the Journal of Real Estate Research (a SSCI indexed journal, in English) and the International Real Estate Review (the official journal of AsRES and GCREC, in English) will attend this conference, seeking to identify papers that may be suitable for the journals. Papers accepted by the Conference can be considered for Best Paper Awards sponsored by “E-House (China) Holdings Limited” and included in the conference proceedings (with a publication number) at the author’s option. A limited number of rooms in the Macau University dormitory will be available for student participants.
If you would like to present a paper (or serve as a discussant or session chair), please send the paper (or a well-developed abstract) and relevant information to GCREC2012@um.edu.mo before March 10, 2012. Suggested topics include: Real Estate Cycle and Bubble, Real Estate Pricing and Enterprises, Real Estate Finance and Investment, Real Estate Market and Policies, Green Building and City Sustainability, Urban and Land Economics, Real Estate Taxation and Legal Issues, and Project and Construction Management.

In conjunction with its 4th annual conference in Macau, GCREC will host its first Doctoral Session on July 3, 2012. The Doctoral Session will be held in the Grand Hyatt, Macau, in the afternoon. The session will be chaired by Dr. Tyler Yang and Prof. Shenghua Jia. The purpose of the session is to offer chances for the doctoral students to receive constructive comments from one another as well as from the session chairs and audience. An evening entertainment session will follow the conference reception as an opportunity for the soon to be Doctors in real estate to get to know future colleagues.
(1) Near completion doctoral students are welcome to submit an application to participate the session to present their well-developed dissertation. The application must be endorsed by the main academic advisor and send us the paper abstract (in Chinese) on or before 1st April, 2012. Depending on the number of applications received, priorities may be given to students that will defend dissertation before August 2012. Interested students can email related documents to Dr. Jessie Chen at Jessie.zhang@ifegroup.com
(2) The congress will select 16 doctoral students to present their thesis papers during the 2012 PhdD session. The selected students will have the honor to join the dinner with members of Global Chinese Real Estate Congress and be provided with US$100 as subsidy.
(3) The congress welcomes all students and members to join and listen to the PhD session on July 3, 2012. However, no dinner and travel subsidy will be given.
(4) Papers (in Chinese) accepted by the PhD sessions will be considered for “Best PhD Paper Awards” sponsored by “Global Social Science Institute”.
