Content | : | Prof. Sit Fung Shuen, a chair professor at the Hong Kong Baptist University and honorary research fellow at the University of Macau (UM), spent five years collecting Chinese and foreign historical maps, and then compiled the maps into a tri-lingual (Chinese, English and Portuguese) monograph about how the Portuguese came to Macao in the early 16th century and how their interaction with the locals and the mainland over the past 500 years has contributed to Macao’s evolvement into a unique modern city that is a mix of Chinese and Portuguese cultures. Prof. Sit will share the process of creating the book. |
