The Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, the Sport Development Board of Macao SAR, the Macau Tower Convention & Entertainment Centre and the Association of Athletics of Macau recently co-organised the “Stepping High Macao Tower Run 2013”. The competition attracted many students, staff and alumni of the University of Macau (UM). 600 participants began the race at the starting point at Macao Sai Van Lake Square. After three kilometers of running, athletes climbed flights of 1,298 steps towards the top of the 61-storey Macau Tower. UM student Chan Chan Kit won the third prize (Men B Group) and UM staff member Lao Meng Ieng placed seventh (Women B Group) at the competition respectively.
