The University of Macau (UM) East Asia College
(EAC) on 24 September held the annual summer exchange sharing session to provide
an opportunity for students wishing to participate in the exchange programme to
know more about the programme. During the sharing session, six students who had
returned from their exchange trips to Beijing, Europe and the United States
shared their experiences and offered some useful tips. They advised junior
students to be prepared for the large amount of work involved before the trip,
to be patient during their liaison with the overseas universities, to make good
use of the opportunity to not just experience local cultures and make friends
with people from different backgrounds, but also to learn to be more
independent and improve their communication skills. EAC Master Prof. Iu Vai Pan
shared his own experiences of studying abroad and offered a lot of money-saving
tips. This summer holiday, more than 30 EAC students participated in various
kinds of summer exchange activities.
