The University of Macau’s (UM) Pearl Jubilee College (PJC) on 24 September held its first High Table Dinner in the new academic year, which was attended by nearly 200 students and teachers. At the dinner PJC Master Prof. George Watt encouraged students to try new things in the new academic year, such as read books which previously didn’t interest them, to broaden their horizons. Some students gave beautiful handmade cards to the tutors and administrative staff who have been transferred to the two new residential colleges on the new campus, as a token of their gratitude for their guidance and help.

The High Table Dinner is a major monthly event at PJC, which aims to build a close bond among college members through regular get-togethers. Guests of different backgrounds are usually invited to share their life experience.

Apart from PJC Master George Watt and PJC members, Freshmen College (West) Master Prof. Kevin Thompson, Freshmen College (East) Master Prof. Chung Ling, Dr. Patricia Anne Thompson from the Faculty of Education, as well as senior fellows from different residential colleges Dr. Peter Yu, Prof. Cheung Kwok Cheung and Prof. Kit Kelen, also attended this year’s High Table Dinner.
