The University of Macau (UM) on 16 December (next Monday) will hold a lecture titled ‘Advances in Autonomous Driving’, as part of the University Lecture Series. Dr Zhang Yaqin, president of the Chinese internet giant Baidu, will be the keynote speaker. During the event, Zhang will talk about the opportunities and challenges brought by autonomous driving from technological, industrial, and policy perspectives.
Zhang is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences as well as a fellow of the Australia National Academy of Engineering and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He has received more than 60 patents in the Unites States and has published over 560 academic papers and 11 books. Zhang holds board membership and adjunct professorship at eight prestigious universities in China, the United States, and Australia. During the talk, he will address some of the controversial and key issues in the advances in autonomous driving technology.
The lecture will start at 3:30pm in Mr and Mrs Lau Chor Tak Lecture Theatre (G078), Anthony Lau Building (E4), UM. It will be conducted in English, with simultaneous interpretation into Mandarin.
