On the occasion of the Constitution Day and the 40th anniversary of the promulgation of the current constitution of China, the University of Macau (UM) kicked off the second training course in the constitution and the Basic Law of Macao SAR for faculty and staff members of residential colleges. The course aims to increase the participants’ understanding of the two legal documents. In his speech, UM Vice Rector Mok Kai Meng said that UM attaches great importance to patriotic education of students and launched this training course for faculty and staff members of residential colleges to learn more about the constitution and the Basic Law. Guests attending the kick-off ceremony also included Lok Wai Kin, director of the Centre for Constitutional Law and Basic Law Studies; Wong Seng Fat, interim college master of Cheng Yu Tung College; Ho Heng Man, Kong Wa, and Lai Kuan Ju, instructors in the Faculty of Law; Wong Siu Lam, functional head in the rector’s office; and Sun Sisi, member of a special task force for the promotion of the constitution of China and the Basic Law of Macao SAR in residential colleges.
