A book co-authored by Liu Jianhong, Distinguished Professor of the Faculty of Law at the University of Macau (UM), and Liang Bin, professor of sociology at Oklahoma State University, titled ‘Chinese Netizens’ Opinions on Death Sentences: An Empirical Examination’, recently received the Best Scholarly Publication Award from the Association of Chinese Professors of Social Sciences (ACPSS) in the United States at the 27th international conference of the association.
Published by the University of Michigan Press, the book has attracted much attention in academia. It also received the Distinguished Book Award from the Asian Criminological Society in July 2022.
Founded in 1995, the ACPSS is composed mainly of Chinese professors and researchers in social sciences and humanities in the United States. As the largest academic organisation of Chinese scholars in these fields in North America, the association has become a prominent force in promoting exchanges between North American and Chinese academic circles.
