Scholars in the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics of the University of Macau (UM) have conducted a study how about cooperation between Hengqin and Macao can foster the development of metaverse-based industries to promote moderate economic diversification of Macao. The study discusses various topics related to the metaverse, including its history and future development, as well as the various layers in its structure. The study also analyses current projects leveraging metaverse-related technologies and provides suggestions for industry-academia collaboration led by the government to foster metaverse-based industries between Hengqin and Macao.
