The University of Macau (UM) and the Zhongnan University of Economics and Law recently held an online debate competition on the topic ‘Stories for children must/do not have to end with good triumphing over evil’. Debaters from the two universities debated the values of children’s literature, whether alternative endings in children’s literature where good does not triumph over evil has literary value, and other related topics.
