The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) of the University of Macau (UM) has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Celfinet (Macau) Limited for promoting further cooperation among the two parties, improving UM students’ research quality and cultivating more excellent research talents for Macao.

Celfinet (Macau) Limited is a subsidiary company of Celfinet located in Macao. Celfinet is an international telecommunication service supplier that provides facilitation of wireless and fixed system, as well as professional trainings in telecommunication technology, telecom software development and customization. The present memorandum covers several cooperation projects, such as projects on boosting both parties’ developments in the field of telecommunication, increasing the level of scientific research, and promoting the technological development in Macao. Under the memorandum, UM will provide professional services and technical support to Celfinet, and jointly develop a series of international research projects for China and other regions. This cooperation provides students from FST, UM, with not only an opportunity to put what they have learnt into practice, but also fellowship and scholarship for developing academic excellence.

The signing ceremony was hosted by Professor Rui Martins, Acting Rector of UM, and Dr. Alexandre Victorino, General Manager of Celfinet (Macau) Limited. It was also witnessed by Professor Mok Kai Meng and Professor Wu Enhua, Dean and Associate Dean of FST, UM, Associate Professor Vai Mang I, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, FST, as well as Associate Professor Tam Kam Weng from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, FST.
