Four members of UM were awarded by the Macao SAR Government in recognition of their outstanding achievements, contributions and distinguished services rendered to the Macao society at The 2009 Honors and Awards Presentation Ceremony held days ago. The Ceremony was presided over by the Macao SAR Chief Executive Chui Sai On. Decorations, Medals and Certificates of Merit were conferred to individuals and entities.
Mr. Ho Iat Seng and Dr. Yeung Tsun Man, members of the University Council, were conferred the Honourable Medals of Golden Lotus Flower while Mr. Lam Kam Seng, member of the University Assembly as well as the University Council, were conferred the Honourable Medal of Silver Lotus Flower, in recognition of their distinguished contributions in business and political area.
Prof. Wang Zhishi from the Faculty of Science and Technology, in recognition of his outstanding contribution in higher education industry and the environmental field, was conferred the Order of Merit with Professional .
Prof. Wang was honored the Order of Merit with Professional ten years ago and it is much more commendable to have received this Merit again. Prof. Wang said he would make more contributions to Macao in the future.
