Prof. Ezra Feivel Vogel

Ezra Feivel Vogel, a Henry Ford II Professor of the Social Sciences Emeritus at Harvard University, has accepted the University of Macau’s (UM) invitation to give a lecture on Deng Xiaoping and foreign relations on 17 May at STDM Auditorium, UM’s University Library. The lecture will revolve around Deng Xiaoping and the Transformation of China, Prof. Vogel’s latest book, and will discuss how Deng’s experiences in different countries influenced his foreign policy, with focus on Deng’s relationships with Japan, the United States, and Southeast Asia in 1978 before the implementation of the “reform and opening up” policy.
