The University of Macau (UM) held a Christmas party for its staff last Friday. The party was attended by over 800 staff and their family members. The award ceremony for the “New UM Campus Facilities Naming Activity” and“My Favorite Plants on New Campus” Voting Activity were held during the party. Ms. Iao Man Leng attended the party on behalf of Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Cheong U. She wished all UM members a merry Christmas and a happy New Year. She conveyed Secretary Cheong’s promise to provide continued support to UM for its relocation to the new campus, so that the new campus can be put into operation in September next year.

In his speech, UM Rector Wei Zhao thanked all colleagues for their hard work over the past year. He mentioned that relocation to the new campus requires the joint effort of every UM member and he looks forward to attending next year’s Christmas party on the new campus.

UM’s University Council Treasurer Wong Chong Fat, UM Vice Rectors Prof. Simon Ho, Prof. Rui Martins and his wife, Dr. Alex Lai, Prof. Haydn Chen and his wife, and President of the Executive Committee of UM’s Alumni Association Mr. Kot Man Kam also attended the party.
