Prof Zhu Shoutong, head of the Department of Chinese at the University of Macau (UM), published an article entitled “Understanding the Essential Features of Plays and the Classicalisation of Modern Chinese Plays” in the 2013 first issue of Social Sciences in China, China’s most prestigious academic journal in the fields of social sciences and the humanities with an acceptance rate of 2 per cent. This is the fourth time Prof Zhu has published an article in this journal (including the English version). He is also the first from Macao to have published an article in this journal in the capacity as a Macao scholar.
