The Pearl Jubilee College (PJC) House Association recently organised a charity bazaar to raise funds for their upcoming community service and charity events, including service learning and voluntary teaching in Hainan, and visits to children’s homes. The organiser also hoped to let students use their creativity and help them develop a sense of social responsibility through the activity.

Between 31 March and 4 April, student volunteers set up booths on the campus to sell various items, including handmade leather bracelets, necklaces, bookmarks, and bags. To prepare for this event, PJC’s House Association collected items donated by students, organised handicraft workshops, and even designed a product catalogue.

The charity bazaar was a success. Many items were sold out on the first day. Student volunteers organised additional workshops to make more handicrafts and offered tailor-made services to make the handicrafts more special. Each item was attached with a card with the name of the volunteer and the date of production written on it.
