Yang Xueyan, a postgraduate student of medicinal
administration from the University of Macau (UM) Institute of Chinese Medical
Sciences (ICMS), recently received full funding to attend the 50th
Annual Meeting of Drug Information Association (DIA) as a student poster presenter.
Her paper entitled “Financial Crisis of Pharmaceutical Firms in China by Using
Z-Score Model” stood out from more than 2,000 submissions to the DIA annual
meeting. This is the 8th consecutive year since 2007 that ICMS
students of medicinal administration have attended DIA’s annual meetings with
full funding. The theme of this year’s DIA annual meeting, which was held in in
San Diego, California, United States, from 15 June to 19 June, is “Celebrate
the Past – Invent the Future”. The meeting was attended by more than 7,000
people from all over the world, including officials of health regulatory
bodies, members of the academic elite, representatives from medical and patient
groups, as well as professionals from the pharmaceutical industry. Yang’s paper
was supervised by ICMS associate professor Bian Ying.
