The University of Macau’s (UM) Honours College (HC) recently organised a study trip to Wuhan, Hubei province, at the invitation of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council and the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR. Participants in the five-day trip included Lai Yang, a representative of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council; Cen Jiayi, a representative of the Liaison Office’s Department of Culture and Education; Mok Kai Meng, dean of the HC; and 21 students and alumni. The students say that the study trip gave them an opportunity to learn more about the political, economic, cultural, and ethnic aspects of Wuhan.

During the trip, members of the delegation attended a series of lectures at Wuhan University and visited the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Hubei Provincial People’s Government and the Hubei Students’ Federation. To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Dr Sun Yat-Sen, they visited the Museum of Wuchang Uprising of 1911 Revolution. The delegation also visited the Yellow Crane Tower, Hankou Yangtze River Beach Park, and East Lake scenic area.
